Higher Ground Welding & Art creates work that’s personal, durable, and one-of-a-kind. Most of my metal pieces start with reclaimed materials—nuts, bolts, horseshoes, springs, old tools, and rusted steel. Working with these materials lets their character guide the final form, though I’m fully capable of building from new steel when the design calls for it. Every piece is welded to the same high standard I use in structural fabrication, and some incorporate colored glass or mirrors for added visual interest.

Projects range from small, repeatable items I keep in stock, to custom commissions, mid-size sculptures, large installations, and functional pieces like tables and handrails. Many of my larger works are inspired by the natural beauty found local to me here in Northern PA—horses, crows, turkeys—and smaller functional sculptures include playful touches like fence post crows that hold a trinket for seasonal swaps.

My 2D work includes memorial pet portraits and paintings in watercolor and acrylics, lino-cut prints, greeting cards, and custom stamps. One of my paintings was even used for the album cover of Hungry by Van Wagner. Across all media, I focus on thoughtful design, careful craftsmanship, and creating work that feels alive, intentional, and unique.
