Instruction

My approach to teaching is grounded in real-world practice and a genuine enjoyment of teaching. I hold an associate degree in Welding Technology from Pennsylvania College of Technology and bring experience from boilermaking, fab shop work, and industrial training environments, including work performed to ASME code standards. Alongside hands-on industry experience, I’ve spent years teaching in career & tech ed., as well as providing focused instruction in industrial and shop-based environments. Through it all, emphasis is safety, proper technique, and an understanding of the science and mechanics behind the work.

People learn in different ways, and good instruction adapts to that. Some students want fast-paced direct feedback while under the hood, others need time, repetition, and space to experiment. My goal is to meet people where they are, choose tools and processes that make sense for their goals, and help them build skills that stay with them- whether they’re preparing for industry, setting up a home shop, or learning a new skill with confidence.

Make It Take It

These are hands-on sessions designed to get you welding and walking away with a piece you made. Sessions are planed for around two hours, though projects can run longer, and additional time can be purchased as needed. Materials are included, with pricing depending on the complexity of the project. I guide you through setup and assembly so you leave with a finished piece and real experience using the tools.

Instruction

Individual or small-group lessons focused on building welding skills and confidence. Sessions cover fundamentals, techniques, and project-based learning, with content tailored to each student’s experience level- whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine existing skills. Instruction starts at $35/hour, with session lengths flexible to meet your goals and additional time available as needed. Safety and practical real-world skills are emphasized throughout.

Industry Training

Focused instruction for those preparing for or working in real-world welding environments. Training emphasizes professional standards, proper techniques, and safety compliance. Pricing varies based on scope and intensity. Sessions can take place in the shop or on site, and theory beforehand is personalized to the needs of the client.
